Makes about 18 cookies Total Time: 3 hours 30 minutes
Ingredients:
2 sticks salted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 sugar
1 egg, room temp
1 tbsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups cake flour
2 tsp baking powder
12 oz milk chocolate chips
Instructions:
In a small saucepan over medium high heat, melt butter, stirring occasionally, until foamy and dark golden flakes appear in the foam.
Pour the butter into a small bowl and refrigerate until almost solid, about an hour.
In the bowl of a stand-mixer, whip butter and both types of sugar until noticeably lighter in color. Mix in egg and vanilla until fully combined.
In a medium bowl, combine flour and baking powder, and then slowly add this into the bowl of the stand-mixer while on low speed.
When just combined, fold in chocolate chips.
Roll dough into 2 tbsp balls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 350°, thawing the cookies slightly while the oven preheats.
Bake cookies spaced at least three inches apart for about 15-20 minutes, depending on your oven, or until golden around the edges.
Enjoy your chewy brown butter chocolate chip cookies!
